From soft flourishes to sharp, intricate accents, this drum solo will allow students to show off their skills and emotional expression in the ultimate ‘conversation’ between dancer and rhythm.

New Bellydance Moves and Combos
Come and experience a fresh new approach to belly dance movements and combinations to spice up your dancing and have your audiences entranced! In the first hour of this workshop there will be a focus on the development of new movements that can be applied to both Oriental and Tribal style belly dance. From the slow and sensual, to fast energetic steps, the technique of each movement will be broken down for ease of learning. The ‘feel’ and musicality of each movement will also be explored so that students can experience and better understand all the elements that go into a dance step. The second hour will present the movements learnt in the first half in a series of combinations that are easy to learn, versatile, and fun to do. These combinations can be used both by the solo dancer or a troupe and are most effectively used through different patterning, expression, and musical interpretation.

Earth, Air, Water, Fire
Middle Eastern dance is a very emotionally expressive art form and each belly dance style can be interpreted through elemental imagery, energy and feel. In this fun workshop four miniture dance combinations will be taught that best reflect each of the four elements. EARTH will focus on a grounded, Tribal/folkloric style sequence; WATER will incorporate sinuous, sensual floor work; AIR will express the light delicacy and elegance of the Classical Egyptian style and FIRE sparks with the energy and joy of gypsy dance. The combinations will be accompanied with the appropriate music and expression associated with each style.

Contemporary Veil - Fire Storm
Learn a funky new veil choreography with dynamic, creative new veil techniques to keep you inspired! In just 2 hours you’ll twirl and swirl your way through a fun routine to contemporary music that will challenge and enhance your dancing.

The Art Of Sword Technique and Choreography
The use of the scimitar sword in Middle Eastern dance is a powerful and dramatic display that demonstrates the balancing skills of the dancer. The sword is a beautiful but dangerous weapon and audiences are often spellbound by a dancer’s use of it. In this workshop learn the basic uses of the sword and how it relates to belly dance. Participants will learn poise, balance, safety, and techniques that can be used when performing with a blade. A short routine will be taught to further enable confidence and experience with a sword.

Indian Spices
Learn funky Bollywood combos, Orissi classical gestures, and exotic Asian-style movements to add spice and flair to your belly dancing. With sequences such as the ‘Indian Fling’ and ‘Kissing Peacocks’ the movements in this workshop are fun and dramatic and easily adapted for both Tribal and traditional styles of belly dance.

Spanish Influences In Middle Eastern Dance
Infuse your dancing with the power and beauty of Flamenco style movements. Stamp, pivot and flourish your way through this energetic workshop! Learn how to use strong arms, graceful hands and bold, swirling movements to add that extra spice and passion to belly dance. The workshop will include new movements and combinations and an exploration into expressing that all important drama and emotion through your body. Bring a flounced/circle skirt.

Tribal Fusion With Sword
Using a sword in Tribal Fusion is a dramatic combination and reflects the danger and beauty inherent in the style.
